What's up,
Today's update fixed a bunch of issues that we keep having over and over and that we were pushing back because there was more important stuff to deal with... It goes as follow:
Downloading a photo on an apple device using safari is now possible
ON ANDROID , USING CHROME; WITH THE APP PINNED ON THE DESKTOP: While uploading a bunch of photos using a mobile device, you can now switch tabs and go do something else while the photos keep uploading.
ON IOS DEVICE, USING SAFARI; WITH THE APP PINNED ON THE DESKTOP: While uploading a bunch of photos at the same time using a mobile device, you can now switch tabs (NOT PERMANENTLY CLOSE TAB) and go do something else while the photos keep uploading BUT the photos will simply stop uploading and post the photos that are already loaded. You will not get a "upload failed" message anymore. UPLOAD WILL RESUME WHEN YOU GO BACK ON THE PAGE.
You can now add tags that are not in the tags list in the personalized feeds
You can now go in the search bar to search partial tags, ex: NOKL600307 can be found by searching KL600 or NO 600, etc...
The website will soon be easier to find on google soon.
Bencherz Walls was added to the main page, this is ALMOST JUST LIKE BENCHERZ, but for walls (you guessed it). This section of the site will start slow, with photos only from Montreal streets for now. More city subsections will come soon. (CURRENTLY ONLY ACCESSIBLE WITH PASSWORD TO DO THE TESTING. UP SOON, BE READY FOR THIS ONE)
We’ve been making some changes so the basic stuff on the website be more convenient and somewhat more enjoyable..
The image sizes on desktop computer been adjusted so everything looks cleaner when you’re using the site on a computer.
Changed the way photos look on the feed and put a new download button.
Unfortunately you’ll now need to create an account if you want to download a photo in HD. Sorry about that, it’s more for some site security reasons.
Get Bencherz notifications on your phone by adding Bencherz to your home screen. We’ve also added a new “Add to Home Screen” notification to make it easier to set up.

The system used to create personalized feeds has been improved. There will be some more improvement to it soon, but it is definetly getting more friendly user than it was. =}
It's moving forward and we're actively working on the website these days to make it optimal and easier to use... Today's update goes as follow:
-Fixed an issue where, if a reporting mark has only one extra photo, the (+1) indicator is not displayed in the feed even though the related photo exists.
-A Display name will have to be filled in the profile section at first login after the update, or at the creation of a new account.
-Updated the passenger train and metro upload flow so that Europe or North america is still set by default according to your account preferences, but users must now explicitly choose the correct country, line or location before submitting a post. (Freight train uploads remain unchanged.)
-made HD photos available to all users by default. Account owners can now disable HD access for their own uploads if they choose, instead of having to enable it manually.
-Added notifications to alert users whenever a new admin message is posted in the News inbox.
-Changes were made to the bell icon for the notifications.
As of today, the site reached 60 000 validated photos. That includes photos from Freights in America and Europe, as well as passenger trains and metros.

Ok so today, a few different things were added/modified on the website.
-There is now a new system to identify photos that should be way more fluid / friendly user than it used to be. It now features a scrolling menu that is way easier to navigate than the previous one.
-The metros are now added into the list. Right now It is possible to post any metro and any line from any european country with a system or more in it. There are already a bunch from Paris Line 12 and 3.
-Update for the North America freight section: next to photos on the feed, you can see that there is a number next to the reporting mark of the freight ex: TTGX12345 (+3). The (+3) represent the amount of photos with this reporting mark that are already posted. If you click on the reporting mark or the photo, you will see the related images.
-Photos posted from now on will be available to download in HD unless the poster decided otherwise in the "my profile section" (and not the other way around).
Some more changes are coming in the pretty near future. stay tuned.
It is now possible to post photos of passenger trains in North America and all of Europe.
The photos that are being posted in the NORTH-AMERICA section must have eiter a reporting mark or a recognizable tag such as a writer’s name to end on the feed (The best is to have both)
For the EUROPE section, please identify the type of car and writers.
Also “general” yard photos won’t be posted on the feed. Make sure photos have a clear view of one car that can be identified.

After many requests by multiple users, this is the long overdue update that I promised you would have a while ago (sorry, been busy).
-Ability for every user to edit a post after publishing it.
-Added infinite scrolling to the reviewing page so you don't have to click next all the time.
-Have the “My Images” feed in chronological upload order.
-Notifications are up for likes and comments on your posts. (eventualy this system will be available for any # that you follow)
-You can now add missing # in comments section of a photo.
-Search by username to find specific users.
-Some stats have been added to the user profiles such as : The total amount of uploaded photos, the total amount of validated photos by a user and the age of the user's account.
We’ve made several "Quality of life" updates today! Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new:
Photo Upload Features When uploading a new photo, you’ll now be able to specify not only the reporting mark, but also the type of train car and tag the writers (if applicable).
New “Back” Button We’ve added a “Back” button to make navigating the app much more convenient. You can now go back to the previous page without having to perform another search or navigate through multiple steps.
Improved Login Process To ensure better account security and prevent users from getting “locked out,” we’ve introduced a new login method. From now on, you’ll use a “private” username and password to log in. Your “public display” name will remain separate, and the unique password key previously used will now serve as your account recovery or password reset key.
Share Your Photos and Profiles We’ve added a share button that allows you to easily share both photos and user profiles with others on all other platforms.
Photo Watermarks Updated We’ve updated the watermarks on photos to now show the username of the user who uploaded the photo. This helps give proper credit to contributors.
